These Apple Bacon Crostini bring together the sweetness of caramelized apples, the smoky crunch of bacon, and the smooth richness of creamy cheese—all atop a toasted crostini. They’re perfect for any autumn event, from casual get-togethers to more formal dinners.
Ingredients:
- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 ounces goat cheese or cream cheese
- 2 medium apples, thinly sliced
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps:
- Prepare the Crostini: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush them with olive oil, and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Cook the Apples: While the crostini are toasting, heat a pan over medium heat. Add the apple slices, honey, and cinnamon, cooking for 4-5 minutes until the apples are tender and slightly caramelized. Season with a pinch of salt.
- Assemble the Crostini: Spread a layer of goat cheese or cream cheese on each crostini. Top with a few slices of caramelized apple and sprinkle with crispy bacon bits.
- Serve: Arrange the crostini on a serving board and drizzle with a little extra honey if desired. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
