Grinch Cupcake Topper Recipe
Grinch Tree Cupcake Toppers
These Grinch Tree Cupcake Toppers are the perfect way to add a festive, whimsical touch to your holiday cupcakes! Using green candy melts, mini pretzel rods, and star-shaped candies, these toppers are simple to make and look amazing perched on top of your favorite cupcakes. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Green Melt'ems candy
- Mini pretzel rods (about 12 rods)
- Star-shaped sprinkles or candies
- Parchment paper
- Piping bag or a plastic bag with the tip cut off
Instructions:
- Prepare your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the mini pretzel rods about 2 inches apart. These will serve as the tree trunks for your Grinch trees.
- Melt the candy: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the Green Melt'ems in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If the candy is too thick, you can add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to help it flow better.
- Pipe the trees: Pour the melted candy into a piping bag (or use a plastic bag with a small tip cut off). Starting at the bottom of the pretzel rod, zigzag lines up the rod to mimic the shape of a Christmas tree with a droopy top. Continue this for all the pretzel rods on the parchment paper.
- Add the star: While the green candy is still soft, press a star-shaped sprinkle or candy onto the top of each tree.
- Let them set: Allow the Grinch trees to harden at room temperature for about 20 minutes, or place them in the refrigerator for a faster set.
- Decorate your cupcakes: Once the trees are fully set, gently lift them off the parchment paper and place them on top of your frosted cupcakes.
